On May 21, the Seminar on “One Belt and One Road” and Regional Literature Arrangement was held at Confucius Academy. Experts and scholars from Shaanxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou, etc. made exchanges and discussions on arrangement, research, publication and other issues related to regional documents.
The current meeting is sponsored by the Guiyang Confucius Academy Culture Communication Center, Sichuan University, the editorial group of Collection of Ba Shu Classics and the editorial committee of the Library of Guizhou Classics, including three special topic discussions, that is, “Regional Literature Arrangement and Research”, “Regional Academics and ‘One Belt and One Road’ Research”, “Publication of Regional Literature Result”, aiming at revealing oriental value and Asian wisdom by thoroughly implementing the main idea of speeches of President Xi Jinping related to “cultural self-consciousness” and “cultural self-confidence”, strengthening the arrangement, exploration and succession of regional cultural results and summarizing outstanding traditional Chinese cultures.
“Guizhou is a multi-ethnic province, the way of efficient collection and arrangement on minority ethnic documents is an important task that we face.” GU Jiu, Curator of Guizhou Research Institute of Culture and History and Chief Editor of Library of Guizhou Classics, has introduced the progress of arrangement on Guizhou regional documents. At the end of 2017, the first batch of books of the Guizhou major publication project - Library of Guizhou Classics has been published, which filled the publication blank in collection of the classic documents in the Guizhou history of cultural development. Library of Guizhou Classics is a large-scale collection including and arranging historical documents of Guizhou in ancient and modern times, covering both the Chinese literature and minority ethnic literature, over 400 types (books) planned to be edited and published.
“Literature leads revitalization of culture. Literature is the main carrier of culture and also of academia, ideology and historical cultures. Now that various locations across China arrange and research on their own regional cultures, it serves as an important symbol of the revitalization of Chinese culture.” says SHU Dagang, Professor of Sichuan University, Chief Editor of Collection of Ba Shu Classics. He also expresses that as different locations have varied research methods, arrangement progress and publication specifications, we can take the opportunity of this seminar for mutual exchanges and promotion. On the one hand, it may promote the arrangement and research on regional cultures; on the other hand, it helps the exploration and promotion of local historical and cultural resources.
